Email Subscription for Static html websites

One of the best features in Wordpress blog is you can integrate feedburner. This way you can be constantly in touch with your readers also know as subscribers. Feedburner will maintain your subscribers list and when you post any new article on your blog, a message will directly reach to your subscriber’s inbox.

But what if you don’t have a wordpress blog? If you have a static html website, how you can implement ‘Email Subscription’ option?

After doing some research on the web (its just search not research though ;) ) I found one interesting feature from http://www.gmailinglist.com/. You add your subscription form on your website and all the subscribers will get updates in your Google account contacts. As a starter you can use gmail to send news letters till the subscriber count is 500. Once reach beyond that you can export the contacts to any excel format and use SendBlaster like services to send news letters to your subscribers.

Start a mailing list

Sign in with your Gmail account
Grant access to your Gmail Contacts
Create subscribable Gmail Contact Group(s)
Tell people about your mailing list(s)

Subscribe to a mailing list

Search for the mailing list
Enter your (subscriber) email address
Click 'Subscribe' - confirmation email will be sent
Click confirmation link in email
