This glucose in blood (blood sugar) is transported further in to our body tissues for further utilization.
In normal individuals this transportation of glucose in to body tissue is normal, where as in case of diabetes patients it is impaired.
Blood glucose (sugar) transportation from blood to body tissues is facilitated by hormone known as insulin. This is secreted by pancreas.
In case of diabetes transportation of blood sugar from blood to body tissue is impaired because of following reason.
1. Insufficient amount of insulin secretion.
2. Resistance to insulin
How many types of diabetes are there ?
Further diabetes mellitus is classified in to following types
Diabetes Type 1:
In this type of diabetes pancreas cells are not able to produce insulin, due to atopic condition or any disease condition which result in to damage to pancreas. Other reason is autoimmunity where our body produces antibodies against the pancreas cells thereby damaging pancreas.
